Sam has been resurrected from the dead by her well-meaning boyfriend, Ethan. Before the dirt is washed from her body, she already knows something is wrong. Soon enough, the monster within her takes over as she looks on helplessly… The will to live outweighs any moral dilemmas she battles.

Sam develops psychic visions of her victims, further causing unrest within her soul. On top of that, Ethan is unwilling to tell her how he brought her back. But there are clues, seemingly everywhere, and someone wants her to know the truth. Although she isn’t sure if she can trust them.

The Monster Within, by Kelly Hashway has all the elements I love in a good young adult fantasy novel; everlasting love, witches, resurrection, and a good dosage of suspense to keep you turning the pages. The dark plot of this novel makes for a compelling read that is hard to put down.

I loved the main characters, Sam and Ethan, and the love they shared. Teenage love is so intense, and Kelly Hashway captured that intensity perfectly in The Monster Within.

I would recommend this novel to lovers of paranormal, fantasy, and young adult fiction. Kelly Hashway doesn’t disappoint! 5 Stars!
