AWRW #WAYBACKWEDNESDAY Book Review: When The Wind Blows, by Author John Saul

waybackwednesdayWay Back Wednesday is a Book Meme created by A Well Read Woman with the aim to write mini book reviews on books read in the past, that left a lasting impression.

You know what kind of books I am talking about… The ones that you have read multiple times, and they still bring you nostalgia. Books like these are the reason you enjoy reading.

So grab that old-dusty-yet-loved-book off the shelf, glance it over, write a mini review, and join in with me on Wednesdays! EVERYONE is welcome to participate. Complete instructions, here! 🙂

Today I would like to talk about an old favorite of mine, When The Wind Blows, by Author John Saul. If you have ever read a book by John Saul, you know that his stories are dark and twisted, and usually involve the murder of children. When The Wind Blows is no different.

6563Out of the night, out of the past, the terror comes...

The children were waiting. Waiting for centuries. Waiting for someone to hear their cries. Now nine-year-old Christine Lyons has come to live in the house on the hill — the house where no children have lived for fifty years. Now little Christie will sleep in the old-fashioned nursery on the third floor. Now Christie’s terror will begin…

Purchase, here!

This novel roped my young self in and barely let go! I still, to this day, think of this book! When the wind blows, terrible things happen… stillborn babies cry, dark secrets and a disturbing past come to the present. A terrific example of why one should let sleeping dogs lie.

  1. It sounds like a creepy novel. This might be similar to “Flowers in the Attic” by V.C. Andrews. The Flowers in the Attic series is creepy where all the children get haunting treatments at home. It probably both of these novels might be different.
