Dream Theory: Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls

I am descending in a glass elevator at “work”, with two of my “co-workers”. Not sure what my job is, because I am wearing only my bra and underwear… but I am not ashamed. In my hands are a camera and a picture frame, and I am determined to capture a picture of a waterfall outside.

Image

I step outside and it is snowing… despite being barely dressed I am not cold. I can see, and hear the waterfall, it is beautiful, and far away… I need to get closer so I can get a picture to impress my friends.

The closer I get, the further away it appears. I am only able to see the waterfall if I hold the picture frame in front of my face. Without the picture frame, the waterfall disappears… Frustrated, I trudge into the woods, snow up to my knees… barefoot I carry on. Still I cannot feel the cold.

And then I wake up…

I never did capture a picture of that waterfall… and that’s too bad too, because it really was a magnificent sight.

But what did this dream mean? Time to head over to dreammoods.com. 😉

Elevator:

“Descending in an elevator suggests that you are being grounded or coming back down to reality. It also symbolizes setbacks and misfortunes.”

Glass:

“To see glass in your dream symbolizes passivity or protection. You may be putting up an invisible barrier to protect yourself in a situation or relationship. To dream you are looking through glass represents your openness and non-defensiveness. Alternatively, you may be putting up an emotional barrier around yourself.”

Work:

“To dream that you are at work indicates that you are experiencing some anxiety over a current project or task. The dream may be telling you that you need to get back to work. Perhaps you have been slacking off and need to pick up the pace. Stop procrastinating. Alternatively, the dream represents your success.”

Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine! I will get back to my second book I am writing, Skin for Sin ©. But it is soooo hard to focus on while I’m waiting the three months to hear back on my first book, Pathological Lover ©.

Co-workers:

“If the co-workers in your dream aren’t your actual co-workers, then they may pertain to some psychological business that you need to work on. Work related dreams can also often be related to stress at work.”

Underwear:

“If you are not bothered by being in your underwear, then it suggests that you are ready to reveal or expose something that was previously hidden. It symbolizes some aspect of yourself that is private.”

“To see or wear panties in your dream represents your feminine attitudes and feelings. It reflects a female point of view.”

Snow:

footprints

“To see snow in your dream signifies your inhibitions, unexpressed emotions, and feelings of frigidity. You need to release and express these emotions and inhibitions. Alternatively, snow means you are feeling indifferent, alone, and neglected.”

Yeah right… I’m on an emotional roller coaster 24/7. This one was waaay off.

Barefoot:

“To dream that you are barefoot represents your playful attitudes, and relaxed carefree frame of mind. Alternatively, being barefoot indicates poverty, lack of mobility, or misunderstanding. You may be dealing with issues concerning your self identity. You are unprepared for what is ahead of you.”

Explore:

“To dream that you are exploring new lands indicates self-discovery. You need to start looking within yourself to discover aspects of your own character and find out what drives you.”

Forest:

“To dream that you are walking through a forest signifies a transitional phase. Follow your instincts.”

“Picture Frame”

“…represents a wish to have a current situation or relationship remain the same as it is now. You dread change. Consider what is depicted, (the waterfall), for additional significance.”

ImageThe empty picture frame was a bit smaller in my dream, but the underwear is right on… You get the idea.

Camera:

“To see a camera in your dream signifies your desires to cling on, and or live in the past. Alternatively, it may indicate that you need to focus on a particular situation.”

and last but certainly not least, Waterfall:

“To see a waterfall in your dream is symbolic of letting go. You are releasing all of those pent up emotions and negative feelings. Alternatively, the dream represents your goals and desires. In particular, if the waterfall is clear then it represents revitalization, regeneration, and renewal.”

I believe the three most important elements of the dream was my near nakedness, the picture frame, and the waterfall. When I put those three elements together, this is what I get; I am ready to reveal/expose something, but I dread/fear change. I need to release my negative/pessimistic thoughts, and accept what is next to come with an open mind/heart. If I do not do this, I will never attain my goals/desires…

That’s incredible…

Thank you for reading!
