239887Today’s Way Back Wednesday post is dedicated to a favorite of mine, Comes The Blind Fury, by Author John Saul.

“A child cries out… In torment. In terror. From out of the past, from out of the mists, a terrible vengeance is born.”

A century ago, a gentle blind girl walked the cliffs of Paradise Point. Then the children came — taunting, teasing — until she lost her footing and fell, shrieking her rage to the drowning sea… Now Michelle has come from Boston to live in the big house on Paradise Point. She is excited about her new life, ready to make new friends… until a hand reaches out of the swirling mists — the hand of blind child. She is asking for friendship… seeking revenge… whispering her name…

Mass Market Paperback, 384 pages

Genre: Mystery, Fantasy, Supernatural, Thriller

Gah! I loved this book, and I read it so many times that the book eventually fell apart on me. I was drawn in by Amanda’s (the blind girl) story, and I couldn’t help but feel sad for her and I wanted the revenge she sought.

Then, Michelle is introduced to the story, and she is teased by children, much like Amanda, for being crippled. A ghostly Amanda reaches out to Michelle, and soon the laughter stops…

John Saul can weave a supernatural thriller like nobody else. As a teenager, I read ALL of his books, but Comes The Blind Fury was my favorite by him. (I really need to build my collection of John Saul books back up.) I would recommend this novel to teens and adults like, who enjoy a good supernatural thriller!
