AWRW Year In Review: 2014 + Bookish Resolution for 2015

I finished 2014 having read 63 books for the year, and when I made a list to categorize the books I read, I noticed an interesting trend… One that I wasn’t aware of till now.

Books I read for the heck of it:

Sprinkle with Murder (Cupcake Bakery Mystery, #1)Tasha Tudor's GardenThe Husband's SecretThe Tattered Quilt (The Half-Stitched Amish Quilting Club, #2)Angels at the Table (Angels Everywhere, #7)Bake Sale Murder (A Lucy Stone Mystery, #13)

Books I Read In Exchange for a Review:

As you can see, I read way more books for review, a whopping 57 out of the 63.

Fortunately, I enjoy the books I receive for review, but whatever happened to reading simply because I enjoy it?

Reading for fun means to me: reading without taking copious notes, on MY schedule, and without having to plaster my reviews on every available form of social media.

2015 will find me reading MORE books, but for FUN! I will frequent my local library and bookstore and I will borrow/buy books to my hearts content, regardless of my TBR review pile! I will finally get around to setting up a home library to store my newly purchased treasures!

And that is my 2015 bookish resolution.

  1. I have to agree, I have found the exact same thing. There are books I bought months and months a go, and have been DYING to read but haven’t as I have had too many review books to read, so I also plan to make more time for my own books this year.
